Mary Catherine Mullane

Mary is survived by her brother, Frank (Joan), step nieces and nephews, cousins who she loved getting together with, long-time friend and chosen sister, Ellen(Gil) Damsgard, chosen nieces Ana (Goddaughter) and Erika Damsgard who she spoiled rotten and then depended on for many things post retirement, and her feline fur babies, Claire and Ciara. She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Katherine Mullane. A 1971 graduate of White Bear Lake High School and went on to Lakewood Community College where she earned her registered nursing degree. The bulk of her career was spent at Regions Hospital caring for psychiatric patients. She had kept in contact with many of her co-workers following retirement. Mary was an animal lover, having numerous pets as companions throughout her life; cats, dogs, a rabbit, and guinea pigs. She loved wildflower gardening, knitting and crocheting, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed her trips to Georgia and to Germany to see her brother, Hawaii and Ireland with her parents, and up north with family in childhood and with Ellen as an adult .

As she loved time in the woods and by lakes up north, it is fitting that Mary chose her final resting place to be Better Place Forest in the St. Croix Valley.

There will be a Celebration of Life service and gathering at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Stillwater on September 20th at 3pm.
