Age 81 of St. Paul
Passed away peacefully on September 24, 2012.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Gerry; sons, Michael (Cheryl), John (Jill) and Tom (Mickie); grandchildren, Stephanie, Heidi, Sarah, Megan, Hannah, Daniel and Colin; brother, Dr. Donald (Jeanne); nieces, nephews and friends. Merle was a retired educator from St. Paul Academy-Summit, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, Boy Scout leader being awarded the Silver Beaver and was a woodcarver. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Lyngblomsten Care Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Paul. Memorial service 1 PM Saturday, September 29 at LYNGBLOMSTEN CARE CENTER, NEWMAN-BENSON CHAPEL, 1415 West Almond Avenue with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment 10 AM Friday, September 28, Assembly Area 2 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
