Monte Lee Mathison Jr

Monte Lee Mathison, Jr. was born on May 13th, 1965 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Monte Lee Mathison, Sr. and Betty Mathison. He was the youngest of seven siblings. Monte graduated from South High School in Minneapolis in 1983.

He worked many jobs across the city of Minneapolis in his early adulthood, and spent most of his later years raising his children that he loved so dearly. He also was an artist and a musician who enjoyed things like drawing, going to rock n’ roll concerts, and playing the guitar.

Monte was preceded in death by his father Monte Sr., mother Betty, stepfather Vern, brother Christian, and friend Rick.

Monte is survived by his longtime girlfriend Lori, best friend Jody, children Jenelle, Amanda, Heather, Anthony, and Alexander. Siblings Cindy (Greg), Teresa (Steve), Donna (Bob), Kim, and Laurie (Verne), Grandchildren Elijah, Jayden, Lucas, Wynter, Aurora and Leon, Nieces and nephews Michelle, Jesse, Christopher, Hayley and Cara, and three great nieces. He is also survived by many other close friends.

A service to honor Monte will be held on March 5th, 2026 at 3pm at Bradshaw Funeral Home, located at 3131 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406
