Myrtle Lenore Loch

Myrtle Lenore Loch passed away gracefully on October 14, 2025, while in the care of the Comfort Care Team at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Myrtle was born on March 28, 1930, in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. She and her siblings lived with her parents until her mother died. Afterward, she became a resident of the Minnesota State Public School Orphanage in Owatonna, Minnesota. Myrtle resided at the State School and foster homes until grown. While there, she made many life-long friends.

Myrtle married Jack McAllister in 1949. The couple made their home in Crystal, Minnesota. Together they raised their three girls into adulthood, but lost an infant daughter before the end of the marriage.

Myrtle married Eugene Dufault in 1978. The couple made their home in Isanti, Minnesota. At the end of the marriage, she made her home in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Myrtle married Elmer Loch on May 26, 1986, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The couple shared a home together in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After Elmer's death in 1989, she remained there in the home.

Myrtle's early life her craving a life filled with color and beauty. She was known for wearing a flower in her hair on special occasions. her clothing was bright and cheerful and she loved lunch out with family and friends.

Myrtle was a real homemaker. She was very organized and her home was charming and warm. Her yard was full of flowers and she particularly loved her rose bushes. Puppies, horses, chocolates, and John Wayne could always make her smile. She was very fond of traveling and made a lot of happy memories camping throughout the United States. Myrtle loved Hawaii, she vacationed there several times and always dreamed of living there.

Myrtle was happy to talk and visit with anyone and she was a good friend and neighbor to many people over the years. She also loved to say hello to all the babies and animals of the families she encountered. In her later years, she enjoyed the company of her family; her late companion, Paul West; and her many friends and neighbors in the area until her passing.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Floyd; daughter, Rose Lynn; cousin, Carol; son in law, Dennis; former spouse, Jack; late companion, Paul; and late husband Elmer.

Myrtle is survived by her brother, Warren (Cheryl); children, Christine (Richard), Gail, and Lelanie; grandchildren, Sabrina, Nicholas (Chas), Talon, and Jennah; great-grandchildren, Persephone, Gryphon, and Andrew. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and neighbors and friends.

The family would like to thank her good friends, particularly; Cheri, Doug, Daphne, Johannes, Mildred and Paul for their kindness and support during her later years.

The family also would like to thank the dedicated staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and especially to Dr. Lock and the entire Comfort Care Team who took such good care of our beloved Mother.

Myrtle's resting place will be at Fort Snelling with her late husband, Elmer Loch. There will be a private family burial facilitated by the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

We loved her and loved the precious moments we shared with her. We will miss you Mom until we see you again in Heaven.
