Nancy Feldman

Jul 6, 1946 — Jul 26, 2026

Minneapolis, MN

Nancy Feldman, age 80, of Minneapolis, died peacefully on July 26th after a cancer

struggle she faced with enormous courage, strength, and good humor. Born on July 6th,

1946, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Benjamin and Ellen Naze, she was a gift to us all with

her intelligence, curiosity, sense of humor, strong opinions, and love of a good party.

Nancy lived a full, happy life. She was known for her mission-driven leadership, the

inspiring impact she had on her broader community, and her dedication to her large and

loving network of family and friends. Nancy found great joy in her daily morning swim,

biking along her many favorite local trails, traveling near and far, and sharing so many

good stories and laughs with those she loved, even in the final days and weeks of her

life.

During a distinguished career in public service and healthcare, Nancy served in

leadership roles for the State of Minnesota before spending two decades as President

and CEO of UCare, where she helped transform the organization into one of the state's

leading nonprofit health plans while championing access to quality healthcare for

hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans.

She devoted her career to improving the lives of others through compassionate,

community-focused leadership, and she generously shared her time and talents through

service on numerous nonprofit and civic boards, including most recently the Center for

Victims of Torture, Planned Parenthood, MinnPost, Park Square Theater, and the

Nature Conservancy.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Feldman, whose passing in

2006 left a hole that was never filled. She is survived by her devoted and treasured

daughter, Sara; her much-loved siblings and their spouses and children; and Bob's

family, who became her family over the years.

Nancy’s memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 8th at the Memorial

Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, with reception to follow, also at

Lakewood. Instead of flowers, please send memorials to the Bob Feldman Fund of

the War Legacies Project. Nancy established the Fund in 2006 to honor her late

husband, who passed away at age 59 from cancer, likely caused by Agent Orange

exposure during the Vietnam War. The Fund supports families in Vietnam still suffering

from the chemical’s long-term effects.
