Nancy graduated from Austin H.S (1953), Austin Community College (1955) , and Macalester College (1957).  She married Kenneth D. Pedersen in December 1958.  They began their married life in Isle, MN. Ken taught history and assisted with coaching, Nance taught elementary.
After Isle, new job opportunities for Ken led them to Hendricks, MN (59-61), Barnesville, MN (61-63), Fairmont, MN (63-65), Albert Lea, MN (65-70), Roseville, MN (70-73), and Stillwater, MN (73- present)
Family was Nancy’s priority: Carolyn - born in Hendricks, MN 1960 (huge two day snow storm and 20 plus hours of labor may have caused a bit of rethinking) and David - in Moorhead, MN 1962 (the doctor never made it to the hospital for the birth.)
She loved travel, camping, bible camps, church, reading, knitting prayer shawls (170) which were given to others.  Also volunteer work with shut-ins, starting a restaurant with two other women, houseboat trips on the St. Croix River with family and providing aid, encouragement, and assistance to those in need. She was active with the Stillwater Public Library Board, Christian Women’s groups, bible studies, and part-time work with Woodbury Lutheran Church.  Staying busy and giving to others was important to her.
Graveside Service Thursday, December 21, 11:00 A.M. at Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater, MN followed by a gathering for light lunch, conversations and stories at Boutwells, 5600 Norwich Parkway, Oak Park Heights. There will be a celebration of life on Nancy’s birthday, May 9, 2024.
