Nancy (Judge) Seymour passed away June 26, 2025 at age 95, in Alexandria, MN surrounded by family.
Nancy was born in Minneapolis, the last of James & Ida Judge's 11 children. She grew up in south Minneapolis, attended the old South High School and maintained many lifelong friendships from the old neighborhood, including her dear friend Bev.
One of her first jobs was at the Old Dutch factory downtown where she worked with her best friend Ruth.
In 1946 Nancy married Richard Seymour, they were married 63 years and raised 6 children in south Minneapolis. She was well known for her great cooking, hospitality and for hosting big family functions. She was also an expert at sewing and upholstery among other talents.
In the mid sixties, she started working as a phone operator at NW Bell. Nancy was a trailblazer for women's rights, attending technical school to advance to positions that were not normally offered to women at that time. She retired from the phone company in 1992.
After retirement Nancy and Richard moved to a downtown condo, taking advantage of all that downtown had to offer. They also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by husband Richard, sons Richard (Michael) and Stephen and daughter Kara. Survived by daughters Cindy (Dave) Rouse, Joni Seymour and son Jeremy (Jackie) Seymour, grandsons: David and Tyler Rouse, Shawn and Matt Seymour. Daughters in-law: Debby Seymour, Trudy Andreason and Linda Seymour.
Nancy was a force of nature and will be deeply missed.
A special thank you to the team at Alomere Hospital in Alexandria for the kindness, grace and care provided to our mom and family.
