Norma Singer

December 14, 1928 — November 4, 2025

Norma (Kriesel) Singer, one month shy of her 97th birthday, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. She was born on December 14, 1928, at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Freda (Kristensen) Kriesel; her husband, Jack Singer, in 2005; and her twin sister, Lorna (Kriesel) Montagne, in 2016. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Greg) Hanson; granddaughters, Alicia and Lauren; and her nephew, John (Stephanie), along with their children, Ashley and Justin.

Norma and her twin sister, Lorna, grew up on the family farm and shared an inseparable bond throughout their lives. Together, they attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and taught kindergarten side by side in Rhinelander, Wisconsin; Modesto, California; and Fullerton, California. The twins even purchased identical homes just six blocks apart in Anaheim, where they lived for more than thirty years before returning to Wisconsin to care for their aging parents. Norma loved traveling the world, camping across the United States in the "Winnie," volunteering at Lakeview Hospital and The Phipps Center for the Arts, and was an active member of the Hudson Women's Club. She was also known for rescuing a stray animal or two along the way. Norma will be remembered for her boundless love for animals, adventurous spirit, and altruism expressed through donations and volunteering within her community.

Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral service at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, Minnesota, on Thursday, December 4th, at 11:00 am, with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to First Presbyterian Church, or an animal rescue or food shelf of your choice.
