Pamela C. (Thompson) Bartol
Pamela C. (Thompson) Bartol, Age 71, passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 20th, 2024.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Lila Thompson; brother Robert Thompson; sister-in-law Pauline Thompson; nephew Russ Oldenborg.
She will be dearly missed by her son Dustin (Racquel) Wakefield; siblings Sharon (Ed) Oldenborg, Barry Thompson; twin sister Patricia (Craig Wodnick) Lovelette; sister-in-law Peggy Thompson; nieces and nephews Renee (Mike) Extrand, Kelly (James) Pearson, Christopher (Jen) Thompson, Aranda Thompson, Carrie Oldenborg; great nieces and nephews Jessie, Jeff, Hadley, Finley and Fletcher; many other loving family and friends.
Pam grew up in South Minneapolis, graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1970 and attended the MN School of Business to learn computers. She most recently enjoyed 24 years at US Bank, achieving the position of Senior Implementation Specialist and making many friends along the way. The happiest moment of her life was the birth of her son, Dustin, in 1990. As he grew, she loved sharing her inquisitive nature, love of learning, pursuing new experiences, get-togethers with family and friends, and travel adventures.
Memorable trips with Dustin included helicoptering - through a rainbow over Niagara Falls, from Las Vegas to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, at night through the beam of the Las Vegas Luxor Hotel; horseback riding - on Michigan’s Mackinac Island, in the Arizona Saguaro Forest and forging a river in the Ozark Mountains. Pam also traveled many places with Pat. Once-in-a-lifetime was the 2017 total solar eclipse in Fairmont, NE, a perfect road trip.
Pam was a talented artist. She enjoyed stained glass and drawing. She played flute and guitar. Pam and Pat grew up playing music and singing together. Being twins, they made great harmony. Extra-special appearances were at the Bicentennial Freedom Train at Minnehaha Park in 1975, the Milwaukee Auditorium and the MN State Fair Amateur Talent Contest semifinals. Watching and feeding the birds and squirrels on her deck, dogsitting her grand-dog, Summit, making lefse, volunteering and playing Scrabble were activities she loved. Pam is a longtime member of Minnehaha OES #37, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Minnesota Twin Registry. Pam found joy in many things. She never complained, always said thank you and was loyal. She’ll be remembered for her smile, her generosity, being famously kind, love of good times and her ability to make everyone she met feel special. She was good at keeping in contact with friends.
Our family is incredibly thankful for the loving care provided by the staff at Fairview Ridges hospital in Burnsville. Pam’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 24th at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd W, Stillwater, MN 55082 with visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society.
