Patricia "Patty" Ann Pettey

Our loving mother passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at the age of 72, after a courageous fight with dementia.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents James John Logelin and Dorine Stewart, brothers James “Jimmy” Logelin and Robert “Bobby” Stewart, sisters Barbara Logelin-Reich (Steve), Rosemary Stewart and Diane Logelin.

Patty is survived and will be missed by her sons, Samuel and Michael (Aimee), grandchildren Noah, Lydia and Annalynn, nieces, nephews and friends.

Patty grew up in Saint Paul, MN with her parents and 5 siblings.

She worked at the Science Museum of Minnesota for many years.

Patty enjoyed putting puzzles together, doing crossword puzzles, embroidery, and listening to music; Elvis Presley and Tim McGraw were among her favorite artists to listen to. She enjoyed being outdoors; she spent many hours on her porch patio where she found delight in caring for the plants and flowers she planted. She enjoyed watching them bloom and grow throughout the season. She also had a special place in her heart for butterflies, unicorns and Tweety Bird.

Patty loved and adored being a mother to Sam and Mike and always put her children first. You can tell the incredible impression she made in her son, Mike’s life. This is shown through the way he talks about her. As he grew into an adult their bond turned into a friendship and he could always turn to her and count on her as an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, open arms to comfort and she always provided words of love and wisdom. No matter what he had on his mind, she was there to listen. Although dementia prevented deep conversations, every encounter they shared was filled with love and appreciation.

What really brought joy to her life and a smile to her face, were her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed every moment she spent with them. The joy on her face was captured in every photo she is in with them. To say she was a proud grandma is an understatement.

Her warmth and care for others was always evident to everyone around her. She always greeted everyone with a hug and she’d chase you down for one if you tried to sneak away from one. You could always count on her to listen when you needed to talk. She was always the first to check in and ask, “How are you doing?” or “What’s new with you? “ She loved to talk with anyone and everyone. She often had a story to share. She had many witty comments that could make anyone smile.

Patty was happiest spending time with those she loved. Her family meant the world to her. Our mother will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Her special, kind and loving spirit will live on within our hearts and in the memories we shared.

We will soon be reunited again at the gates of heaven, where we will share eternity together, as we rejoice and praise our Father in the paradise He has prepared for us.
