Patricia Ann Porter, known affectionately as "Pat" to her friends and family, passed away on September 09th, 2024, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota at the age of 59.
In loving memory of a beautiful soul who spread joy and kindness wherever she went, Patricia Ann Porter was born on April 04th, 1965, in Claxton, Georgia, to Annie Lee Calhoun and Charles James Porter. Patricia was born the oldest child of 7 children, having 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Patricia first moved to Chicago IL with her Mother and 2 sisters at the age of 4. Patricia then moved to Saint Paul Minnesota with her 2 children in 1996 to find stability and create a peaceful environment and better opportunities. Although Patricia was new to her environment she quickly adjusted. She was always known to be shy but she still made many friends and life long connections. Patricia worked in customer service most of her career. These services were always to the community and serving others. Even after falling ill Patricia was still a beacon of light to anyone in need.
Patricia's faith was always to God, and she attended many churches and bible studies sessions. At the end of her life she didn't have a Church home, but she had God. She studied her bible every night to become closer to God, because she understood her relationship with him was important but yet personal.
Patricia brought warmth and love to those around her from the very beginning. Patricia's impact extended beyond her family as she served her community with an open heart, always welcoming those who needed a helping hand. Her home was a safe haven for many, especially the youth, whom she guided and supported with unwavering love.
As a devoted Family Chef and Caregiver, she poured her heart into creating delicious meals and caring for those in need. But it wasn't just her cooking and caregiving that made Pat special; it was her infectious smile, her comforting laughter, and her ability to bring solace to anyone in need. Her protective and healing spirit touched all who crossed her path, leaving them feeling uplifted and cherished.
In addition to her culinary talents, Patricia had a love for baking cakes, taking walks in the sun, and finding comfort in the words of her Bible. Her wisdom and grace were apparent throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Patricia was an undeniably beautiful and wise soul, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and light she shared so generously with the world.
She is survived by her her Mother, Annie Lee Calhoun; her children, Candice White, Paris Porter, and Caperica Russell; and her six adored grandchildren, Paris Porter Jr., A'myra Maggett, Amar'e Maggett, Adonis Maggett, Reynei Porter, and Ahlani Maggett; her sisters, Charlene Porter, Connie Porter, Stephine Porter, and Crystal Stovall; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends including, Sonja Dodd.
