It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our sweet soul Phil Rocheleau after a courageous fight with esophageal cancer. Phil was born in Duluth , MN 8/26/62, and left this world peacefully to be with his angels on 7/12/25 holding his sister Dawn's hand listening to one of his favorite bands The Grateful Dead. Phil was a generous spirit, and would do anything to help family, friends or a stranger in need. Phil was accepting of everyone for who they were and loved them without judgment.
Phil loved his family and friends deeply, never held a grudge, always told the truth, and apologized quickly. Material wealth was of little importance to him.
His favorite city was Austin ,Texas where he built a life for over 25 years before returning to Minnesota in 2016 to help care for his mom and dad and be closer to his family. Phil was a U.S. Navy veteran, passionate sports fan and an avid reader of mob books.
Phil was happiest when with family and friends, riding his Harley, watching sports, particularly the Twins or Vikings, listening to live music, fishing or just hanging with his nieces, Gracie and Ruby.
Phil is survived by his father Don Rocheleau, sister Dawn Rocheleau-Bancroft, brother in law Rick Bancroft, nieces, Gracie and Ruby Bancroft, and many special family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother Cheri French-young, baby sister Elizabeth Ann Rocheleau , and baby nephew, Gabriel Burton Bancroft as well as several special friends from Texas.
His wish was a "Party" for family and friends to celebrate his life at our home. (5601 St. Croix Trail S, Afton,MN,55001)
