Age 86, of Lake Elmo, passed away December 18, 2025.
Preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Laura; sister, Lucille Cahanes; and brother, Patrick. Survived by wife of 65 years, Marge; daughters, Brenda (Greg) Kamrath, Chelle (Mike) Sandholm and Jodi Barry (Jenny Mason); grandchildren, Kayla (Jake) Johnson, Steve (Leslie) Sandholm, Wesley (Ashley) Sandholm and Taylor (Drew) Schenkenberg; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Elena and Griffin; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Syl; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa, Ray was a volunteer firefighter at East County Line for 20 years, holding various positions of leadership. Ray worked at Collins Electric for 47 years, starting as a copy boy and worked his way up to owner/president.
Community was very important to Ray, whether family, friends, work or church. He was a fun, outgoing, loving, and honest man. Ray loved playing softball, hockey, and golf. He also loved watching his kids and grandkids sporting events. Ray enjoyed watching all sports, but especially the MN Wild hockey team. He lived and taught those around him about compassion, faith, integrity, and family. You will be greatly missed by all those lucky enough to have known and loved you. Go Wild!!
Memorial service Saturday, January 3, 2026, 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Union Cemetery.
