Raymond Leroy Gese, age 93 of Vadnais Heights
Passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Gracewood Senior Living of Alzheimer disease. Ray was born to Anthony and Dorothy Gese on April 17, 1923. He grew up in Grand Forks, ND and served as a Sergeant in the army during World War II. Ray married Vivian Carlson on May 1, 1946 and they had seven sons. He worked at 3M as a manager and retired in 1982. Ray and Vivian lived in Arizona for many years enjoying retirement where he loved to dance, go bowling and golf. We will always remember him for his great sense of humor and deep love for his wife and family. He is preceded in death by his infant son Kenny; brothers Donald, Charles, Leo, Bill; and sisters Dorothy, Josephine. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Vivian; sons Robert (Carolynne) of Alabama, John of Arizona, David (Catherine) of Vadnais Heights, James (Debra) of Hugo, Thomas of California, and Daniel (Lisa) of Isanti; sisters Pat (Terry) Johnson of North St. Paul, Donna Hawthorne of Maplewood, 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. A private memorial service is being planned on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Memorials preferred to Second Harvest.
