Reed A. Becthold

Age 75, of Stillwater, passed away peacefully at his home on December 18, 2025 surrounded by family.

Known to many as the “Dirt Hauler,” Reed was admired for his unique approach to landscaping. He ran his sand and gravel business for over 40 years in the river valley and continued hauling gravel just weeks before his passing.

Reed loved to travel, work, sell equipment and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong Harley rider, classic car enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman in his younger years. He was known and loved by many for his charismatic personality and his passion for perfection in his work.

Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Marie; sister, Brenda; and brother-in-law, Konrad Koosman.

Survived by children, Randi (Ashly), Eric (Savanna), Liza and Christy; grandchildren, Waylon, Bennett, Letty and Brinly; sister, Cindy Koosman; nephew, Guy Hawkinson; longtime friend, John Thommes; and many other family and friends.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Oakland Cemetery, Marine on St. Croix.
