Richard Charles Oberg

Age 81 of Stillwater

Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on June 5, 2026. Rick was born in Menomonie, WI on October 2, 1944 to Lucille and Richard Oberg. He graduated from Bloomington High School and the University of Minnesota and earned his Master's in Reading at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. Rick was a long-time resident of Stillwater and a lifelong educator. He taught 5th grade at Lily Lake Elementary until his retirement (31 yrs).

Rick liked to be outdoors working in his yard, tending to his flowers, fishing, visiting with friends, and sharing his love for reading and writing. He was a proud Golden Gopher fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with family. Being a grandpa was one of his greatest joys!

Left to love and remember Rick are his wife, Susan; children, John (Tonya) and Beth (Ryan) Else; grandchildren, Alexander (Payton), Adelyn (Drew), Brandon, Joshua, and Emily; siblings, Jane (Steve) Robinson and Jim (Emily) Oberg; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thank you and appreciation to Boutwells Landing and Lakeview Hospice.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lucille; and sister, Mary.

Celebration of Life 11am Monday, June 29th at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater, with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow. Interment at Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Bayport Library or donor's choice.
