Robert Sorensen

March 11, 1981 — June 25, 2025

Robert Anders Sorensen, age 44, of Stillwater, MN, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2025. He was born on March 11, 1981, in Anoka, MN.

Rob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jeaney Sorensen, with whom he shared 20 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three children, Anders, Charlie, and Vivian, who were the light of his life. Rob was a proud father, always attending his children's activities and supporting them in sports and academics. His greatest joy came from watching his children excel and grow into kind, respectful individuals, and he worked tirelessly to instill these values in them. Rob's biggest wish for his children was for them to live their lives to the fullest, always guided by love and respect for others.

A man of many talents, Rob's creativity shone through in everything he did. From drawing and painting to creating sculptures, he possessed a natural artistic ability that amazed those around him. He also built computers and loved playing computer games. Rob was selected to be a leader for Star Citizens, where he was a friend and mentor to all those who played the game. Rob had a deep love for learning, from studying computer animation at the Minneapolis Art Institute to teaching himself Korean. Rob's passion for cooking was another expression of his love-he made sure to prepare home-cooked meals for his family every night.

Rob worked for MidwestOne Bank for 23 years, where he was a valued and respected colleague. In his personal life, Rob was an avid sports enthusiast, excelling in baseball, basketball, soccer, and rugby throughout his childhood. He met Jeaney while attending Woodbury High School, where their journey together began.

Rob's greatest legacy was his faith. A devout Christian, he lived his life with integrity and love for Jesus, passing those teachings onto his children with kindness and compassion. Rob was always a faithful man, and his devotion to his family and faith was a model of strength for all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Jeaney; children, Anders, Charlie, and Vivian; parents, Steven and Peggy Sorensen; in-laws, Kee Ho and Inok Han; siblings, Will , Jana (Trey), Jennifer (Spencer), Jake, and Steve (Sara); and nieces Mila, Lawson, Addison, Emmerson, and Ivie; and nephews Maddox, Finn, and Jack. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald and Helen Smith (Grandma/Grandpa Sorensen), Uncle Robert Smith and his Grandpa David Olenchak.

A memorial service to celebrate Rob's life will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, Stillwater MN on July 9th, 2025. Visitation at 4pm and funeral service at 5pm.
