Attended Volga Public Schools from grade 1 through grade 12. Upon graduation joined Army Head Quarters 4th Armor Gp Frankfort, Germany. Worked as a cryptographer coding and decoding Nato secret and other highly classified documents. Spent 2 years in Los Angeles working for the telephone co. Went to school in Omaha graduating in completer science and accounting and back to L.A. Married in 1965 and had 2 boys. Bryan passed at age 16 years of age in a car accident along with two other friends of his from St. Paul. Rod worked as a buyer for 20 years then starting his own business selling commercial carpeting, chemicals and janitorial machines and servicing rental accounts, high rise, town homes and businesses. He also brokered cars for ten years during this time. At one time he had booked over 4000 units in the metro during 22 years in business. After retiring he had more time for the stock market, fishing, keyboards and riding motorcycle. He is survived by his son Bradley; grandson Justin; former wife Sharon. Service Saturday, January 9th at 11AM at First Lutheran Church, 623 Kasan Avenue, Volga, SD. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment First Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Diabetes Association.
