Age 85, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.
Ron was born in New Ulm, Minnesota, the youngest of six children born to Robert and Viola Stroschein. He carried with him the values of hard work, humility, and devotion to family throughout his life.
On September 15, 1962, Ron married the love of his life, Connie (Naggatz). Together they shared nearly 63 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, laughter, and family. They raised three children: Kurt Stroschein, father of Madison and Jadynn; Susan (Tim) Malmstedt, parents of Justin and Megan; and Sara Woodard, mother of Jacob and Jesse.
Ron was a wonderful father, but his greatest joy was being a grandfather. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments. His quiet encouragement, steady presence, and unconditional love will be remembered by all who knew him.
Ron dedicated 43 years of his professional life to First National Bank, later known as U.S. Bank. Beginning his career in the stockroom, he earned the respect of his colleagues through hard work and determination, ultimately rising to the position of Vice President of Operations. His career reflected his integrity, leadership, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and, in his younger years, playing baseball. His greatest passion, however, was bowling. A highly accomplished bowler, he was an active member of the ABCs and celebrated many remarkable achievements on the lanes, including numerous 700 series, multiple perfect 300 games, and the rare accomplishment of an 800 series.
Ron will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his family, and the example he set through a life well lived. His love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever treasured by his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie; his children, Kurt, Susan (Tim) Malmstedt, and Sara Woodard; his six grandchildren, Madison, Jadynn, Justin, Megan, Jacob, and Jesse; and many extended family members and dear friends.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who have had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
