Age 57, of Minneapolis, formerly of Duluth MN and Washburn WI, passed away peacefully January 26, 2025 surrounded by her children. She was an enrolled member of Sault St. Marie Tribe and close relations in Red Cliff and Bad River WI.
Ruth was known for her contagious smile and her ability to light up any room she entered. Ruth was a pet lover. Everyone knew her pomeranian Esiban, wherever one went, the other would surely follow. Ruth always loved to serve in her communities. In her younger years she worked at the Northern Lights Nursing Home and was on the board of directors for the local headstart in Washburn. Later on, Ruth achieved her Bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in social work, leading her to work closely with families in her area. During her time in Minneapolis Ruth was the vice president of her residential council. In addition to her contagious smile she was strong willed and always spoke her mind. Ruth will be missed for her humor and boisterous personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Anderson; and brother, Billy Anderson.
Survived by children, Coralie Buchanan, Dominic Butcher and the twins, Caitlynn and Clarissa Leino; grandchildren, Darlyn Shabaiash, Audrey Northrup and the twins, Yahweh and Gemma Ignabode. She was a stand in grandma for many other children. Also survived by sisters, Robin Frame, Rosemary Anderson and Patti Hintze; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 1:00 P.M at All Nations Indian Church, 1515 East 23rd Street, Minneapolis, MN. Private family burial at Calvary Cemetery, Washburn, WI.
