Sally Gehlhoff

Sally Gehlhoff (nee Chestnut) passed away at home with family on September 21, 2023 from complications related to cancer treatment having achieved her goal of seeing every grandchild after her diagnosis two months earlier. Sally was born January 13, 1947 in Terre Haute IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Shirley Chestnut. She is survived by her loving family; husband of 54 years, Leo Gehlhoff, her children Krista Pitsch (Scott) and Wade Gehlhoff (Angela), her grandchildren, Mikaela, Joseph, Braedon (Damaris), Kari, Rachael, Jacob and Trae in addition to her brothers, Thomas Chestnut (Sue) and Robert (Jackie).

 

Sally was a gentle, warm presence wherever she went. While card making was a loved hobby, children were her passion. If she knew you for any amount of time, she knew and remembered your children. Her passion extended from her own daughter and son to her 7 grandchildren and to scores more as a pediatric nurse first at St John’s Hospital and later in homecare.

 

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, October 7 at First Presbyterian Stillwater. Visitation will start at 10 am with the service at 11 am and a light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Lakeview Homecare and Hospice or a cancer charity of your choice.
