Sandra Ness

Sandy Ness, 62, of New Richmond, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 8, 2024 after a courageous 4 year battle with lymphoma. She was a fighter until the very end, when her body finally said "enough." 

Sandy was born December 11, 1961 to Melvin and Edythe (Blair) Fredrich. She was raised in Stillwater, Minnesota and graduated from Stillwater Senior High School, where she was all-conference in volleyball and softball. After graduating, she started what was to be a 40+ year career with Cub Foods. There she met and married Ken Ness. To this union two children were born, Amanda and Michael. Although Sandy and Ken later divorced, they deeply cared for one another until his sudden passing in 2005. Sandy later met John Lee, and with his three boys her family became a little larger. Last year she became a grandma to twin boys, her “little putzes.” They are the light and joy she needed to push through and keep going.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father Melvin Friedrich, former husband Ken Ness, and great-nephew Jackson Pahr. She is survived and will be missed by mother, Edythe Friedrich; beloved children, Amanda (Fernando) Gonzalez and Michael Ness; her beautiful grandbabies, Nicholas and Elijah; sister Sally Pahr (Dennis McKnite), brother, Rich (Amy) Friedrich; and several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Sandy found her happiness with her fiance and best friend John Lee and his three sons, Mike, Ryan and Chris.

 Memorial service will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 18 at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation beginning at 12:00pm. Memorials preferred.
