Santiago Calderon Service - Livestream
Santiago ("Santi") Calderon, age 20, passed away unexpectedly on June 7. Santi was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He attended Expo Elementary and Upper Mississippi Academy, and he graduated from the Gateway to College program at Saint Paul College.
Santi had a zest for life and made friends easily. He loved spending time with them doing one of the many activities he enjoyed, including skateboarding, snowboarding, fishing, riding his minibike, and playing video games. He worked as a mechanic at Brighton Unique Auto in New Brighton and loved the camaraderie he shared with his fellow mechanics there.
Santi had a heart of gold and was always ready to help a friend with car trouble or lend a hand to a stranger needing a jump-start. His smile could light up any room, and he had a sweet, impish charm that made him unforgettable.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle Munkholm; his father, Anthony Munkholm; his sister, Zoe Calderon; his grandparents, Suzanne and Larry Vanden Plas, Sue Guidinger, and John Munkholm; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Santi's family is devastated by the loss of his singular, bright spirit, but thankful for the time we had to share with him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Santi’s memory to an organization of the donor’s choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bradshaw in Stillwater (2800 Curve Crest Blvd) on June 26. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM, followed by a service at 4:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
