Sherree Lee Nordin (née Bruce)

Sherree Lee Nordin (née Bruce) passed away on May 31, 2025 in Roseville, MN at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Sherree was full of love, laughter and energy. She adored her family and her dedication to them was at the heart of everything she did.

Sherree was born on December 29, 1949, the third child of Arthur and Lorraine Bruce. She grew up in Withrow, MN and graduated from Stillwater High School. As a young adult, she moved to St. Paul, MN and eventually met and married Ronald ("Ron") Nordin, her husband of 49 years. Sherree and Ron raised their family in St. Paul and moved to their lake home in Webster, WI full time in 2012.

Sherree had a 20-year career as an administrative assistant for the St. Paul Public Schools working at Riverview Elementary School and Cherokee Heights Elementary School in West St. Paul. She eschewed formality and let children and adults alike call her by her first name. Sherree cared deeply about all the students she encountered and did her best to support them, including providing scarves, mittens and hats to children who didn't have adequate winter clothes so that they could enjoy recess with their peers.

She enjoyed being active, from horseback riding as a teen, to bowling and softball as a young adult, to fishing, gardening, biking and walking later in life. She even learned Judo with her daughter as a 40-year-old.

Sherree beat breast cancer in 2012. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2018. Her husband Ron cared for her at home until she moved to memory care in September 2023.

Sherree was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Lorraine; brother, Timothy Bruce; nephew, Joshua Bruce; great niece, Lydia Saliaras; dear friend and chosen grandmother, Lucille H. Haagensen.

Sherree is survived by husband, Ron; children, Aleisha Nordin (Julie Johnson), Jennifer Nordin, Ana Flynn (Seth), Alexandre Vallejos (Marcela); grandchildren, Katy ("Tish") Flynn, Megan Flynn, Juliana Vallejos, Gabriella Vallejos; siblings, Kenneth Bruce (Patricia), Susan Bauer (Richard), Jeffrey Bruce (Cindy); and nieces and nephews.
