Age 77 of Mahtomedi, passed away surrounded by her beloved family on August 10, 2011. Preceded in death by husband, Russell; parents, Ruth and Arthur Francois; granddaughter, Anjil; and brother, Skip. Shirley founded Larkin Dance Studio in 1950 and spent the last 61 years sharing her talent, love and gift of dance with many children and families. She was a very generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always giving of herself to those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved or were ever taught by her. She is survived by daughters, Mary Kay (Doug) Kovaleski, Patty Freeman (Terry Lanoue), Michele (Joe) Wagner, Nancy (Skip) Stanton, Kelley (Vincent Martin), Molly (Scott) Symanietz; foster daughter, Kathy Gaines (daughter, Kelley Pat); grandchildren, Ryan Kovaleski (Senna), Brad (Heather) Kovaleski, Jaisen Freeman (Jessica), Quisha (Rob) Tewlow, Danielle and Michael Larkin, Lacey and Luke Larkin, Matt, Alex and Mackenzie Symanietz; great-grandchildren, Hendrix Tewlow, Baby Girl Kovaleski; sister, Yvonne Flaherty; special aunts, Joan Casserly, Babe Matteson; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service Monday, 11:00 A.M. at REDEEMING LOVE CHURCH, 2425 White Bear Ave. N., Maplewood. Visitation Sunday, 3-7 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Cty Rd 5), Stillwater, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi. Memorials to the Alzheimer Association are preferred.
