Shirley Kathryn Spector, age 82, passed away on December 21, 2025, surrounded by love, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born on February 6, 1943, to Willis and Margaret Warkentien and grew up in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.
Shirley graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1961 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mankato State College in June 1965. She married the love of her life, Michael John Spector, on June 17, 1972. They made their home in Roseville, Minnesota, where they raised their three children. Shirley dedicated her professional life to nursing, serving patients with skill and compassion at United Hospital in Saint Paul for many years.
Shirley lived for her family, friends, faith, and love of life. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She loved many things, including reading, traveling, boating, dining out, worshiping at Roseville Lutheran Church, and collecting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; her parents, Willis and Margaret Warkentien; and her stepmother, Cornelia.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Lara), Tammy (Ryan) Fuder, and Susan Feland; grandchildren, Kaiden Zietlow; Savannah and Slater Spector; Michael and Justin Fuder; Anna Simmons; and Max Feland; brothers, Bruce (Cheryl) and Milt (Char Ulstad); stepsister, Tella (Van) Huntley; and countless extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Bradshaw Celbration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake, MN 55127, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial at Roselawn Cemetery will follow at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Shirley's name to the Parkinson's Foundation.
