Shirley Theissen

Shirley (Nielsen) Theissen passed away peacefully at her home in Stillwater on October 10, 2025. She was known for her friendliness, bright smile and generous nature. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leone and George Nielsen; by her husband, Bud Snyder; and by her sister, Georgie Norris.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jacque Nelson; sisters, Carol Taves and Ginny McRae; brother-in-law, Ed Norris; Shirley's son, John Theissen (Katy); her daughter, Kathy Freeman; grandchildren, Jacob Liend and Kristen Pettee (Sean); great granddaughters, Jade, Autumn, Olivia; and by Jacque's family; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at a later date.
