Stanley Bruce Ruud

Stan passed away peacefully at age 69 on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, surrounded by family. Born to Robert and Darlene Ruud in Luverne, MN on October 28th, 1955.

Preceded by parents Robert and Darlene and sister Rhona. Survived by his wife Lisa Rae, daughter Karly, son Vincent, brothers Joel (Tootie), David (Janis), Jason (Mary), and Eric (Melissa).

Stan grew up in a family of 8 in Mahopac, New York. He graduated from Lakeland Senior High School in 1974, and left two years later to attend college at Minnesota State: Mankato. He graduated in 1980 with a degree in Computer Science. After college, he was hired by a local company, SuperValu, as a business analyst where he would work for the next 33 years. At SuperValu, Stan met Lisa Rae, who he would later marry in 1989. They had Karly in 1992 and later Vincent in 1997.

Stan was kind, humorous, and knowledgable. He was very passionate about his favorite sports teams, he loved all kinds of foods, and he loved to travel, taking many road trips both East and West. Stan loved to learn, and he also loved to teach. He could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything, and that person would surely learn something from him. He was a wonderful husband and father, and loved singing to his many pets over the years.

Stan’s Celebration of Life will be held on May 27th, 2025 from 4-7 PM at Brookview Golf Course Event Center in the Bassett Creek Room (top level of the club house).
