Beloved husband, father and Pepa

After a year-long battle with cancer, Steve passed away peacefully on August 22, 2022 on his own terms: at home, with his family, and his dog at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmert and Phyllis. He will be deeply missed by those who survive him: wife of 41 years, Jean; children, Amy (Allen) Wardell and granddaughter, Nora (11); son, George (Ali) Carr and grandchildren, Violet (7) and Henry (5); brother, Raymond (Margaret); many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Joy. She always put a smile on his face and was his constant companion.

One of Steve’s many passions was for ham radio. He won countless awards and his walls were covered with certificates. He was also an active member of the Minnesota Wireless Association.

A fan of Mickey Mouse and a gifted pianist, Steve also enjoyed boating on the St. Croix River and fixing anything and everything. He always had spare parts for anything you needed.

He made his living helping clients adapt to new technologies. Steve was motivated and rewarded by the relationships in his life. He loved and was loved by his business clients, and all the other folks he met along the way.

Celebration of life will be 4pm Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, with visitation beginning at 2pm. Guests are encouraged to dress as Steve would – comfortably, in denim! Memorials preferred to Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue, the family or donor’s choice.
