Age 69, of Stillwater MN, passed away on April 20th 2022 after a heart attack.
Steve was born on January 29th 1953 to Bob and Joyce Paquette in Norfolk Virginia. After graduating from Wayzata Highschool in 1971, Steve went on to study Chemical Engineering at Arizona State.
After graduation, Steve landed his first job as a Product Engineer for 3M. This started his 38-year career with the Automotive Division of 3M. In 1978, Steve met the love of his life, Susan at a company baseball game, and they wed in 1980, going on to have two children, Kara and Eric.
Steve was a passionate car and boat enthusiast and enjoyed wood working, creating furniture pieces for his home and gifts for his grandchildren. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” in our family because he could fix anything from cars to washing machines and was too stubborn to pay someone else when he knew he could figure it out.
Most of all he loved his family and friends and instilled high standards and values in his children and grandchildren which serve them well. He did this to stay connected. He would call Eric on Friday nights while in college to see what was going on, and coach Kara on numerous life situations. His wish was to connect daily with his grandchildren, which was granted most of the time. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Anyone who knew Steve knew he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Steve was preceded in death by parents Joyce and Bob Paquette, and is survived by wife Susan Paquette, daughter Kara (Justin) Willhoite, and son Eric (Vanessa) Paquette. He also leaves five grandchildren, Makenna, Madison and Hazel Willhoite, and Silas and Cohen Paquette, and siblings Kathy (Tom) Mitchell, and Suzanne (Paul) Walther.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, April 26, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at CHURCH OF ST. MICHAEL, 611 South 3rd Street, Stillwater with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
The family asks that charitable donations be made to The Kabuki Syndrome Foundation in honor of Steve Paquette.
Madison, one of Steve’s five grandchildren has this syndrome and his wishes would be to further support others who are affected by the same condition.
