Theresa Plasch

Theresa Madrid-Plasch, age 62, of Newport, formerly of St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of December 27, 2023

The fourth of six children of Pedro and Rosa (Hinojos) Madrid, Theresa was born March 12, 1961 in St. Paul. She graduated from Johnson High School, where she enjoyed many hobbies, including photography and music. In her professional life, Theresa played many different roles in the world of finance, from Data Entry Clerk to Controller. In her later years, she enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, her dogs, and relaxing at the lake in Hayward, WI with family and close friends. Theresa will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and inclusiveness, and for her boisterous, welcoming laugh.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 23 years, James Plasch, who she married January 22, 2000 in St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by her son, David Nicoletti, of St. Paul, MN, and his children Olivia and Fiona; daughter Tymara Madrid, and son in law Tyler Storey, of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and their child Lilly; son James Madrid, of Newport, MN; stepdaughter Michelle Annen, brother Peter Madrid, of White Bear Lake, MN; mother Rosa Madrid, of Inver Grove Heights, MN; nephew Kristopher Madrid, of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by father Pedro Madrid; and siblings Ricardo Madrid, Patricia Madrid, Connie (Robert) Weixeldorfer, and Edward Madrid.

A public wake for Theresa will be held Thursday, January 4th from 6 - 8pm at Bradshaw (1078 Rice St.)

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 5 at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine (401 Concord St.) with visitation an hour prior.
