Thomas Kurtz

Thomas Harry Kurtz April 8th 1955 - August 26th 2025

Thomas H. Kurtz (70) passed away on August 26th in Hennepin County MN. Tom was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the hearts of many with his kindness and fun loving personality.

Born on April 8th 1955 he grew up in Minneapolis. In 1977 he became a hard working employee of the Minneapolis Parks Board and worked for many years trimming trees. Tom had a passion for playing baseball and loved other sports like football, horseshoes and fishing. He enjoyed his nights out with the guys at Popeye's bar and in later years, at the Scooner. Tom was known for his love of ice cream, and his girlfriend Deb's homemade gondolas, but most of all loved his dogs Trampus and Skylar.

Preceded in death by father, Robert H. Kurtz, mother, Harriet M. Kurtz, brothers, Robert G. Kurtz and Daniel T. Kurtz. Tom is survived by Deb's daughter Heidi, Heidi's daughter Alyssa, and Heidi's son, Shawn. Mary Jo Kurtz (sister in law) nieces and nephews, Shanna Borowicz, (niece), Scott Kurtz, (nephew), Mark Kurtz, (nephew), Daniel Kurtz Jr., (nephew), Rae Kurtz, (niece), Christina Schmidt, (niece), Tara Clinkscales, (niece), Ashley Nelson, (niece) and their families.

A celebration of life will be held at the Scooner Bar, 2901 27th Ave. South Minneapolis 55406 on September 13th, 2025 at 1 o'clock pm. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Tom's life with us.
