Thomas Wiener

d. November 26, 2025

Tom, age 69, of Oakdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

A 1974 graduate of Harding High School, it was there he met the love of his life, June Von De Linde, and the two have been inseparable ever since. After earning his degree from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, Tom joined his father at Cardinal Realty and Homebuilders, later helping expand the business to include Cardinal Remodeling, Cardinal Appraisal, and additional development companies. A true mentor, he guided his children as they became the third generation to carry on the family legacy. He worked side-by-side with his wife and his sister for nearly 50 years.

Tom believed in giving back. He served the Realtor Association as president and treasurer (multiple terms) and as president of the Builders Association (Housing First). His kind, steady demeanor made him a trusted source of advice for many, and he always made time for anyone who needed him. Building homes and neighborhoods was one of his greatest joys, and he felt privileged to have completed more than 700 of them.Tom was generous, playful, and known for his dry, lovable sarcasm. He treasured time with his four grandkids, loved days at the family cabin, and was happiest on trips where the whole family could be together.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Eunice Wiener, and by his in-laws, Rod and Marie Von De Linde.

He is survived by his children, Tony (Amy) and Laura Scheidecker (Trent); grandchildren Thomas, Ben, Tristan, and Laila; and two "bonus" grandsons, Peyton (Tyra and baby Roman) and Preston. He is also survived by his sister, Deanna Wiener (Jim Tilsen); sisters-in-law Margo (Jim) and Kathy (Frank); brothers-in-law Skip (MaryKay), Mark (Maggie), and Keith (Lita); many nieces and nephews; and his long-time and deeply valued office manager at Cardinal, Jen Livingston. Tom cherished his many friends, including long-time subcontractors and both past and current employees, each of whom meant the world to him.

A special thank-you to Dr. Strand and the Mayo Clinic Palliative Care team for their exceptional care. Memorials preferred to Eagle Brook Church or the Housing First Minnesota Foundation. Visitation 10 a.m.-12 p.m., service at 12 noon, Dec. 3rd at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater.
