Timothy B. Sands

Age 92 of St. Paul

Passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home. Tim spent his early education and high school attending Breck School. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1955 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Betsy", that same year. Tim spent most of his career working as a mechanical engineer at companies in Boston, MA and St. Louis, MO. He and Betsy retired to Ely, MN and spent 10+ years in their beautiful log cabin that he designed and built and she decorated. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, walking his many dogs, and spending time with his family.

Timothy was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy; parents, Edward and Winifred; brother, Edward.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Rice, Emily (Charlie) Traynor, and Timothy Sands; grandchildren, Joseph Rice, Patrick Rice, Elizabeth (Jordan) Seebach, Kathleen Traynor, and Charles Traynor; great-grandchildren, Jack and Ellie Seebach.
