Trinidad “Jessie” Larson, age 80, of South Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2023.
Born in Kauai, HI, raised in the Philippines, she moved to Minneapolis in 1969. Jessie was a loving wife, sister, mother of 3, grandmother of 8. Family was everything to Jessie. She was the kindest soul, pure in heart, clever, and loving.
Jessie, with her husband Steve, had an open home that welcomed all their kids' friends. She loved knowing all their goings on. She was the best Grandma. She loved the uniqueness of each of her grandkids.Their bonds are deep and mutual, full of love and humor. Her support and connection was daily.
She loved to cook, especially Filipino food. She blessed us w/lessons. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, going out to eat, cross stitch, crocheting, gardening, time w/sisters, playing cards, crosswords, reading, and watching the news and Jeopardy. She was witty, intelligent, and competitive, but not boastful. She always had a fun fact to tell. She wanted us all to keep learning. She was an incredible gift giver, ever thoughtful and interested in others.
Although an introvert by nature, she was also an outgoing person. She was a founding oncology RN at ANW hospital for nearly 40 years. She gave exceptional care to both patients and peers. She served at her church Autumn Daze festival for almost 30 years, countless have said she made the best egg rolls/taco meat ever. After retirement, she cheered her ‘kids’ on at sporting events, family gatherings and enjoyed good times w/two Red Hat Lady groups.
Jessie will be remembered for her devotion to God, generosity, high expectations, beautiful nails, perseverance, and the sacrifices she made for her family. Her warm smile, laugh, stories, caring heart and universal love for others will be missed by all.
