Vernon Heeren

Vernon L. Heeren, age 95 of Roseville. Passed away peacefully at home with family at his side on Thursday Feb. 15th. Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy of 50 years, parents Martin & Matilda; grandaughter Danielle Maranda, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Survived by his sons, David Anderson, Mike (Beverly) Anderson; daughter, Tracy (Bill) Maranda; 5 grandchildren, Tammy, Bryan, Robyn, Andy and Mike; 8 great grandchildren and sister, Shirley Strait. Vern was a terrific dad, grandpa and great grandpa, but first and foremost, just a great man. He served in the Korean War as an Army medic, had a 32 year career with 3M, retiring in 1987. He loved golf, Iowa College football, basketball and was also a tortured Vikings and Twins fan. He was a talented artist and craftsman as witnessed by his many woodcarvings and drawings. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday March 1, at 1:00PM with a visitation 1 hour prior at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake. Luncheon to follow. Special thanks to Our Lady of Peace Hospice, especially Laura, Jane, Suzanne and Katie for their exceptional care.
