went to heaven on March 9, 2017.

Dear Family and Friends, my 74 years have gone by too quickly, and I have finally escaped my Alzheimer's bonds and am headed for that long trail ride in the sky. Deepest gratitude to my wife Dawn, for her incredible patience, care and love. Also to my daughter Shannon (Chad is a great guy; glad you married him), my son Robb (your wife, Stacey, is the sweetest lady), sisters Rebecca, Sylvia, and Evelyn; my grandchildren Darby, Aidan, Marais, Wesley, and Mara--thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your Grandpa Vern. To the 32 years of students who graced my classrooms and shared my passion for learning--your successes are some of my greatest accomplishments. I lived my life to the fullest ATVing with family and friends, travelling to see the grandkids, exploring the mountains, canyons, dunes, and the Oregon Trail of the West, enjoying the Civil War sites of the South, and sleeping under the stars in the back of my pickup. Until we meet again, my love to you all, Vern.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 17, 2017 at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 150 Fifth Street, Marine on St. Croix. Visitation Thursday, March 16, 2017, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater and also one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer's Assn of MN & ND.
