William (Bill) Joseph Lecuyer, passed away on May 4, 2026 at the age of 94 surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Bill was born in Stillwater, MN on March 19, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Peter Lecuyer, his Aunt Vera Hawkins and daughter Linda Reichow. He is survived by his loving wife Jo of 71 years and sister Dolly Sershen, children Anne (Stan) Koich, Bill Jr. (Kris) Lecuyer, Jim (Denise) Lecuyer, Lisa (Tony) Kofakis, son in law Al (Lisa) Reichow. 12 grandchildren, Amy (Barrett) Stoks, Ashley (Tony) Rossato, Joe (Alyson) Reichow, Alex (Maggie) Koich, Michael (Sarah) Koich, Vince (Danielle) Lecuyer, Brent (Alison) Lecuyer, Marie Lecuyer, Jamie (Adam) Carson, Peter Lecuyer, Noah Lecuyer, Addison Reichow, and 18 great-grandchildren; and many more friends, neighbors, and relatives.
Bill farmed the land in Stillwater. He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War and had the opportunity to go on an Honor Fight to Washington DC. In 1990, he retired from Northern States Power (NSP) and then enjoyed his winters in Gold Canyon, AZ where he made lifelong friends. His most treasured times were spent at the cabin on Myrtle Lake in Orr, Minnesota. The cabin was where Bill taught his family to fish, hunt, take saunas and skinny dip. His other favorite place was his garage. He tinkered, built, refurbished and fixed everything. Bill had a special relationship with each of his children and grandchildren. He loved telling them stories and they loved listening. He was also the neighbor everyone knew and loved. He was part of the greatest generation. He witnessed hardship, change and history firsthand and responded with compassion, generosity, and open arms.
Jo, his wife of nearly 71 years, was his most cherished gift. Their commitment to each other was founded in their strong Catholic faith and has shown everyone how to love hard, forgive often, celebrate milestones and cherish friendships.
