William Sylvester Tomljanovich

Died at home in Lake Elmo, Minnesota on May 13, 2025 after a brief illness at 98 years of age. 

He was born in Ironton, Minnesota on May 9, 1927 to Blaz and Anka Tomljanovich. He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1946 and returned to graduate from Brainerd Junior College in 1947. He graduated from the St. Paul College of Law (now Mitchell-Hamline School of Law) and was admitted to practice law in Minnesota in 1955. In 1957, he married his law school classmate Esther Jeanne Moellering, who survives him. He worked for 30 years for Fisher Nut Company in St. Paul, Mn, where he served as Vice President for Logistics. 

In addition to his wife Esther, he is survived by his son William B. Tomljanovich, daughter-in law Izabella and grandsons Anthony and Justin and sister Olga Diachuk. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marianne Noble, brothers in law Duane Noble and Walter Diachuk and nephew Michael Diachuk. 

A memorial service for William S. Tomljanovich will be held at Assumption Church in downtown St. Paul at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2025 with a visitation being held one hour before the service. 

Memorials in his name may be sent to the Tomljanovich Scholarship at Mitchell-Hamline School of Law.
