48, of Andover, MN, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of December 10, 2025 in Andover, MN.
Zong was born in Laos on January 1, 1977. He graduated from Fresno High School in 1994. He attended Fresno City College from 1995-1997. He then relocated to the twin cities in Minnesota to pursue new opportunities. He then met Myra Lee in January of 1998 through mutual friends. They married on July 3, 1999 and had their first daughter March 2, 2000 and bought their new house and resided in the twin cities. Zong graduated from Metropolitan State University in the summer of 2002 with his Bachelors of Science in Management Information Systems. He went on to work for General Mills and H.B. Fuller in the role of IT.
They then embarked on relocating in sunny Florida in 2006. Zong began working for Humana in the role of IT and they had their 2 nd daughter on December 3, 2007. During this time, he was also heavily involved in the Hmong Florida Community serving as a Treasurer. He enjoyed countless days fishing by the ocean, or any body of water that was available to him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was living his best Florida life. They had their third daughter on September 2, 2010, making it 3 beautiful girls total.
Zong continued to work for Humana and was promoted to Senior Systems Engineer II. Zong's interests and hobby include running a food truck at Auburndale Flea Market in Auburndale, FL, owning an AIRBNB retreat, launching a Lash Garden beauty business for his wife, Myra, and purchasing their cabin in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina. In his leisure, he enjoys fishing, camping, traveling, gardening, farming, and being outdoors. Chasing dreams was a balancing act and fun was always the key. Zong dedicated his life to his family, IT career, Hmong community, and cared profoundly about his family and friends deeply.
Zong is preceded in death by his father, Yeng Vang and younger brother Sifue Vang.
His wife is Myra Vang. He is survived by his daughter, Calista Vang, Bailee Vang, and Autumn Vang. He has two granddaughters who are 2 years old and 3 months old.
His mother is Nkauj Noob Her and siblings are Mala Vang, May Vang, Kong Vang, Kue Vang, Wuave Vang, Lisa Vang, and Janet Vang. His father in-law is Lia Cha Lee and mother in-law is Dia Lee. His brother-in-laws are John Lee and Albert Lee. His sister in-law is Susan Lee.
