Carmelina Rodriguez~Reyes

Carmelina Maria Rodriguez-Reyes was a dynamic force of love, light and diligence with family and friends who love her deeply. Born in Minneapolis, MN on July 17, 1947 to Julia and Carmen Rodriguez. Carmelina helped care for her siblings that followed, and continued to care for others during her career by helping elderly patients as a Medical Assistant. Carmelina shared a powerful mother-daughter bond with her daughter Nicole. Carmelina absolutely treasured her grandchildren, was present in their lives since birth and held them as long as she possibly could; all of her grandchildren have happy memories of adventures with Grandma. She loved to walk around the lakes, enjoyed shopping, reading, organizing her home and tending to her plants. Carmelina loved perfumes and pretty scents. She loved jewelry and liked to wear her ruby birthstone. Carmelina embraced life and recorded her happiness by taking pictures-documenting and holding on to every precious moment.

In 2014, Carmelina was given 6 months to live due to kidney Cancer, but her intense connection to God and to all who loved her, kept her with us for 7 years more. On November 13, 2021, at 11:11 am, Carmelina left the physical world; passing in her daughter's embrace and surrounded by her eldest grandchildren. Survived and deeply missed by her father Carmen J Rodriguez, Aunt Violet Reyes, daughter Nicole (Waa-Gosh) Banks, grandchildren Cassandra, Gabriel and Michael Caballero, Isley Reyes, Nathan and "Victor Victorious" Gurneau. Siblings, Teresa and Micheal (Twyla) Rodriguez, sister Mary Dierling, best friends/“sisters” Carol June White, Victoria Schnoes, Joy Wener, Jan Robia, Vickie Muro, Mary Lyons, her friends at Walker on Lyndale-Henrietta, Pearl, Cassandra-so many friends and many cousins including Tina Austin, Connie Marie Gilles, Vickie Reyes, Danny Martinez, Rudy and Tammy Ybarra, nieces and nephews: Alberto, Tony, Alphonso Rodriguez, Rachel Contreras, Leticia Almanza, Arturo Gonzales Jr., Augustine, Maya Weyaus, Michael and Emiliano Connor. Welcomed to heaven by daughter Carmelina Boswell, siblings: Augustine, Tomas, Sofia Lidia, Julie and Robert Rodriguez, mother Julia Rodriguez, grandmother Berzabe Ybarra nephew Robert Rodriguez Jr., Lifetime friends Ray and Esther Schnoes, Nick Boswell, Randy Desjarlait, and many close friends and family.
