Elijah Mackfee

d. October 1, 2020

Mr. Elijah Mackfee “Doc” was born March 18, 1955 to the union of Mrs Hattie Mae Williams and Henry Williams, SR. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Mae, Williams-Mackfee and father Mr. Henry Williams, SR, sisters Mrs. Jessie Ame Beard, and Sadie Mae Williams, brother Mr. Willie Duben Sommerville and nephews, Mr. Donnell Jones, Mr. Kenneth White and Mr. Michael Lamont Shackerford.

Mr Elijah Mackfee was born in Hollendale Mississippi. Shortly after the age of five the family moved to Saint Louis Missouri where Elijah and the rest of his siblings attended the Saint Louis Public School system from elementary through high school. Elijah was a very bright, intelligent young man.  Through his lifetime he has worked multiple jobs in many different states, but no matter where Elijah went he was always the life of the party, meaning he was always a glad sight to see. Elijah loved his family very much, Elijah made sure any and every one around him was happy and kept everyone laughing at his funny sense of humor. The love he had for his children was very warm and unconditional. Even though Elijah traveled a lot, he would never forget about his children and would always make his way back home to them.  For those reasons his love as a father will always be cherished in the heads of his children-always,

Mr. Elijah Mackfee gave his life to Christ on October 1, 2020 where he is now in heaven reuniting so many of his loved ones.

Elijah leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his oldest daughter, Barbara Ann Marie Turner, his other daughter Mrs. Eilesha Willis; three sons Mr. Joshua Pickering, Elijah Pettis and Mr. Juan Williams; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.

A POEM FOR DAD

Dad the choices that you made during your life on Earth where not in vain,

During your last days with us all we saw was a man suffering and in so much pain,

As you lay knowing you were about to cross to the other side,

You spoke words to us that meant children do not cry for me, you have got to be more wise,

You turned to your children and said Please Go and have no FEAR,

Suffering for me is about to end and my time here is near,

My purpose here has expired and it’s time for me to move on,

Just as the Bible says be strong for, I know I’m going to the kingdom,

I’ve told tales of life, laughed plenty of good laughs, and sang many harmonious songs,

It’s time for me to go my children for my battle here has already been won,

In our hearts were deep aches we felt would never go away,

As days passed, we cried continuously scared to face another day,

Well Dad wisdom has finally come upon us now and we remember those words Please Go! ,

Not feeling you didn’t want us there by your side, simply saying you loved us dearly and wanted us to know

We no longer look at you as a man that laid suffering and in pain,

But a wise man ; telling us your life through comedy and your many successful gains,

Your condemnations at us and us to you were always at zero,

We want you to know even at times in physical absence you remained our true HERO

A man accepting his own and his family’s flaws and imperfections,

Wanting us all to look at life on Earth as a recollection and reflection,

Before crossing over you made sure we’ve learned many of your truths.

Bottom line is (as you would say) We now know in life until death what we must do,

To remember the conversations and times we shared together with you as simple, but precious things

Dad we salute you for now you can Fly free becoming our Angel that has earned his Wings,

We Love You Always,

Elijah’s Children

My Hero

Dear Daddy
Now that you are sound asleep
and I can’t wake you, no matter
how many tears I cry I know
the Lord had to take you
above the clouds to a better place.
Daddy just know it hurted me to
see the aching pain upon your face
and no matter where I go in
This life, and eternal life,
You will always be my Hero.

Your Daughter, Barbara

I love you Daddy
