Helen Engstrom

Age 96, of Minneapolis, MN passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, George; her parents, Cecil and Anna; brothers, Robert (Hope) Anderson, Albert (Ruth) Anderson, and brother-in-law, Leo (Doris) Fraser.

She is survived by her sister Doris Fraser; sons, David Engstrom (Laura Hinze), Glenn (Lori) Engstrom, and James (Roxane) Engstrom; grand-children, Matthew (Carolyn) Engstrom, Andrew (Shurene) Engstrom, Nathan (Lisa) Engstrom, Melissa (Matt) Kurke, Daniel (Niki) Engstrom, Taylor Engstrom, Cassandra Engstrom, Peter (Kelly) Hinze, Alicia Hinze (Sean Garrick), Justin (Joelle) Bosch, Raechel Bosch, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Helen was born in Martell, Wisconsin and grew up in Swanburg, Minnesota. After graduating high school in 1942 she left home to obtain a degree from Minneapolis Business College. She worked several years as a legal secretary for the Kelly, Berglund & Johnson law firm before dedicating her life as homemaker to her husband and sons. She loved to garden and was especially proud of her peonies and show stopping purple clematis. Helen’s strong religious faith, courage and purpose has greatly influenced the lives of her family and will continue to do so for generations to come.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 4:00-7:00P.M. at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Drive & Hwy 96. A Celebration of Life Service will be held the day after, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 11:00A.M, at Community of Grace Church, 4000 Linden Street, White Bear, with Visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the George and Helen Engstrom Scholarship at Magnuson Christian School in White Bear Lake.
