Obituary

Lois Mae Running, age 89, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2022, at St. Anthony Park Home.

Lois grew up on a farm in Prairie Farm, WI; the middle child of three sisters. She left home right after high school and started working at Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy) where she remained for her entire career. Over the next thirty-five plus years, Lois advanced her way up in the organization with increasingly more challenging positions. After retirement from NSP, she enjoyed working part-time at Ryan Companies where she made many good friends. Lois enjoyed spending time with her friends and family – visiting, bowling and occasionally golfing.

She was an avid reader, especially mysteries, and loved completing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and traveling. She had a big heart, participating in many volunteer activities over the years, including scheduling volunteers at the Landmark Center, tutoring, and performing other community outreach activities. She also served on the board of directors at Northern States Power Credit Union for many years. Lois will be remembered for her love of reading, playing cards and being a good friend to many people. Her friendship will be missed.

Preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Gertrude Running; and siblings, Carol Running and June Wendt (Donald). Lois is survived by her nieces, Judy Boucher (Mark), Cheryl Jones, Barb Wendt (Larry), and many great-nieces and nephews.

Services for Lois will be held at 2PM, on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Bradshaw White Bear (4600 Greenhaven Dr.). A visitation will begin at 1PM before the service. (https://www.bradshawfuneral.com/)
